That is a question that is sparking a lot of discussion online, the media and various forums. With the cost of a college education rising, and more kids getting into debt, many are asking..."Is College Worth It??"
I have heard both sides of the discussion and know that it really has to be a personal choice. But take a moment to rethink.
- Do you have an idea of what you want to study?
- Are you funding your college education? If so, community college and then transferring to a regular college could be a less expensive option for you.
- If you know you want to get an education but don’t have the slightest idea as to what you want to d0, take some time to discover what that is.
- Get a job first or try out a few jobs to make money towards your education and get a better understanding of what your interests are.
- Start a small business, work with people in the community, travel (possibly through a world help organizations), volunteer.
- Keep your living expenses as low as possible so that you have the freedom to make the choice to go to college when the time comes.
Invest the time to figure out what YOU want to do. School is NEVER a waste of time. There is far more to a college education than just academic learning. But it’s an expensive option. Rethinking your path and how you will approach it could be better preparation for your future and good planning for the life you want to live.
